Each website that we’re commissioned to work on will be different to the next one. One website could require just a simple landing page and contact form, another website could involve several days of development work. We typically ask for a non-refundable deposit of 50% prior to commencing work on your project. Once the project is completed and you’re happy with the finished result, we’ll ask for the remaining 50%.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer a fast turn around on website design and development. The whole process for a standard website takes approximately 7 working days, with eCommerce and websites with complex functionality can take longer. We’ll be able to give a very strong indication of how long your project will take prior to starting.

Your new website won’t “just work” on a mobile device, it’ll look great! Using responsive design techniques, we’re able to make websites adapt to the size of the screen that the website is being viewed on. We use a wide range of languages and technologies to deliver great-looking websites that work on any internet-enabled device including smart phones, tablets, laptops and smart televisions.

Many agencies outsource projects to other agencies, sometimes outside of the UK but at Pixel Cottage, we keep everything right here under one roof. You’ll also have one single point of contact for everything including design, development, maintenance and hosting.

If the website was made using an opensource CMS such as WordPress, Joomla or Drupal then we could almost certainly work on it. If the website was made using a custom CMS then we would need to evaluate the software before we could fully commit to it.

Google use a mathematical system or “algorithm” to decide which sites to place at the top of their search rankings. These algorithms are a closely guarded secret and are known by very few people even at Google! What we do know about these algorithms, is that the search engines place a great deal of emphasis on quality sites. We offer a comprehensive Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) campaign as part of our website packages where we optimise each page of your website so you can be confident in getting a reputable place on the listings. We cannot guarantee that your site will be at the top, however, many of our clients rank at the top of Google for their respective keywords.

If you choose to host your website with us, it will be stored on one of our UK-based servers. Each server is backed up constantly to ensure 100% contingency in case anything ever happens to the hardware or software.

For websites hosted by us, your site files and database will be backed up on a remote server with enough storage for three weeks worth of automatic back ups (unless otherwise stated). If you require more storage please ask us for information and pricing.
